Belonged to a famous silent film star, who lived in the San Fernando Valley.
When Blake took this board to Hawaii and surfed with the locals he could catch the waves much faster as the hollow board was much lighter than the solid heavy ones the Hawaiians were using which they soon adaped to using. It was the go to boards through the 1930s and soon followed the bolsa boards with rewood stringers.
